Holiday Beauty And Skincare Essentials

Hello loves,
as you may know if you follow me on twitter (@ londonstagraam)
I´ll be on summer holiday later this week until the beginning of august.
I´ll fly out to Santorini in Greece.

In this weeks blogpost I´ll show you what I´ll take with me on my holiday when it comes to taking care of my skin and feeling good in it. x

I try to give my skin a break as well when I am on holiday.
So I stay away from heavy foundations and powders.
At daytime I only use a facial sunscreen (below)
When I want a bit of coverage and feel good about myself and my skin, I stick to a bb cream with SPF.
This one is by Maybelline new york and has SPF 25 in it which is amazing when you are in a hot country - protecting your skin from the sun is the most important thing in summer time.

When you go on holiday you don´t want to take big palettes or a lot of single eyeshadows with you. So I recently purchased this tiny palette by catrice cosmetics with three shimmery eyeshadows.
The three eyeshodos have the perfect colors for a holiday eye make up look.
They are bronzed and shimmery and have good pigmentation.

I don´t bother with too much make up as I said before but one thing is a must for me- doing my eyebrows. I am really vain when it comes to my eyebrows. No matter if I go out for dinner or just down to the pool,
I´ll always fill in my eyebrows.
This eyebrow pencil is by Maybelline new york again and it´s in the color medium brown.
It has a waxy pencil side to fill in your eyebrows and a sponge on the other side which
I don´t normal use. I only brush through them after filling them in to give it a more natural look.

I recently discovered this product by lush cosmetics. It´s called silky underwear. It´s a body powder with chia butter. It´s a powder to use all over your body to make it smooth and stop feeling greasy and sweaty. Especially if you like wearing dresses and find thigh chafing really annoying and painful this product is a must have this summer.

Using a body scrub and a rich body moisturizer is just as important as a good sunscreen. To exfoliate the dead skin on your tanned skin is very important so try using a body twice a week.
Try not to use a very harsh peeling. Your skin is already dealing with the sun for many hours straight you don´t want to irritate your skin even more using harsh products on it.
I recommend scrubs by the body shop they make your skin feel moisturized and so so smooth! I am a huge fan.
I also love their body butters. They are super rich with moisture and leave your skin feel amazing for hours.

Now to the most important essential in summer time. Sunscreen.
Nothing is as important as protecting your skin.
Always use a sunscreen with a SPF high enough to really protect your skin for a sunburn.
SPF will not make your skin tanned slower!
It will make your skin tanned in the most healthy way possible.
I like using the sunscreens by nivea. This new one is a sunscreen oil which I find amazing, because I don´t really like the feeling of sunscreen on my skin. An oil protects your skin, smells good and feels way better than a cream.

I always use a different sunscreen on my face. This one is by la roche- posey laboratoire dermatologique and has SPF 30.
This sunscreen is especially for people who suffered or still suffer from acne.
Since I was a teenager I suffered from acne and it really makes difference if you use a sunscreen for your skin type.
This sunscreen leaves your skin matt as well which is perfect if you have an oily t- zone like me.
It is a bit more on the pricier side but when it comes to the health of your skin this shouldn´t really matter.

Taking care of your skin after laying in the sun all day is very important.
To be honest it´s all about taking good care of your skin in summertime.
I got this after sun lotion by garnier to use after showers. It cools down your skin and gives your skin all the things back it looses during the day in the sun.

Protecting your lips from the sun? Yes I´ll be honest with you, I only just heard about sun damaged lips recently.
But it is true, your lips need protection from the sun as well.
I got my first lip balm with SPF 50 for my summer holiday.

I hope you liked this weeks blogpost x

Purple Smokey Eye

I love a purple smokey eye for an evening look or to add a little bit of color to my day look.
I will show you all the products I use to create this look:

I hope you enjoy it x
(more pictures of the finished look at the bottom of this blogpost)

I always prime my eyelids to make the eyeshadow last all day/night. I always use a primer from the drugstore and I am still testing around to find a good one. This one is by catrice cosmetics and I do like it so far.

To make the eyeshadow I want to use really pop out on my eyelids, I apply a pinky creamy eyeshadow as a base. This one is by kiko make up milano and is in the shade 36. This cream eyesahow comes in form of a stick but you can use any creamy based eyeshadow you want to.
Make sure it´s easily blendable. I like using my fingers to apply creamy eyeshadows. The warmth of your finger help to really smooth the eyeshadow into your skin.

The next step is to apply the purply shade you want to all over the lid. I mixed this two together from my kiko make up milano palette.
you can read more about this palette here:

I use a darker purply shade in the crease of my eye to create a shadow and make your eyes look bigger and more hollowed. This one is also from the palette shown above.
It´s a more settled taube-y lilac color.

I use a very glittery eye shadow just in the center of my eyelid to make my eyes pop and give the look a more intense look.

Tipp: wet your brush before applying your glittery eyeshadows. It helps the glitter to stick to your brush and to your eyelids. It is more intense and you can get the best result.

To make the eyes pop to the maximum, I use a bright pinky glittery shade just in the inner corner of my eyes to open up my eyes and to make the look a bit more dramatic.

To finish up the look, line your upper lash line with an eyeliner and wing it out at the end of your natural lash line.
I have gone for a very thin line to just make the look a bit more fitted for a day make up but you can thickening the line as much as you want.
I personally would go for a thicker line for a look for a night out.

Add some mascara.  It does not matter what kind your are using. I always like using a waterproof one because I feel like it holds the curl way better than non- waterproof once.
I like using the false lashes mascara by maybelline.

The finished eye make up look:

I hope you like this look, let me know what you think of this look and if you would re-create it.
Also, let me know what kind of eye make up looks you would like to see.
